To accommodate their growing patient numbers and expanded healthcare services, United Health Services Hospitals (UHSH) replaced several of their smaller facilities with a larger, modernized primary care clinic.

Commissioned by UHSH, Chianis + Anderson Architects conceptualized the new design to be as current and high-tech as the healthcare offered within the facility. To create a modern, yet warm and inviting atmosphere, several building materials were selected – natural limestone, brick masonry, and metal composite material.

According to Greg A. Chianis, AIA, the original exterior envelope design called for the use of an ALPOLIC competitor. However, faced with challenges surrounding the original manufacturer’s availability and finishes, the switch to ALPOLIC was made at the suggestion of the fabricator, Brian Albanese of Forno Enterprises Inc. In addition to providing the exact desired color and finish, ALPOLIC also provided the material in a timely manner and at a competitive cost.

United Health Services Hospital has a modern exterior design

The metal composite material (MCM) is featured in two stock colors, Mica Champagne and solid color Tan, on the third level exterior envelope, the exterior signage and as an architectural detail material for columns and accent soffits. Pleased with ALPOLIC’s durability and ease of fabrication, Chianis comments, “We’ll certainly be working with more ALPOLIC products in the future. The installed product looks terrific.”

Since its establishment in the North America market, ALPOLIC MCM has become a staple product in healthcare design. The superior flatness of our product, in addition to limitless color options and sustainability and safety features of our fire-resistant ALPOLIC /fr panels, have propelled ALPOLIC as a leader in MCM for hospitals, specialized clinics, senior care residential facilities and related projects. Our finishes are featured extensively on The New Parkland Hospital in Dallas, Granger Medical Clinic in Utah, UCHealth Longs Peaks in Colorado, and Slidell Cancer Center in Louisiana, among others.
